    Hoops withstand late Bohs surge to win Dublin derby

    Having suffered their only defeat of the season in Dalymount Park in February, Shamrock Rovers gained revenge courtesy of a 2-1 win in front of a healthy crowd of over 9,000 fans at Tallaght Stadium.

    The men's 1500 metres freestyle kicked off the finals on day one of the Irish Open Swimming Championships at the Aurora Complex in Bangor, and as expected the event was convincingly won by Daniel Wiffen who retained his Irish title.

    Shamrock Rovers came from a goal down to claim all three points as Shelbourne suffered back to back 3-2 defeats on an evening that former Irish International Graham Burke scored his 100th competitive goal for Stephens Bradleys side.

    Kelly pips Moffett to take dramatic victory in Dungannon

    Donegal's David Kelly and his Killarney co-driver Shane Buckley, onboard their Skoda Fabia RS Rally 2, won the two-day Circuit of Ireland Rally in Dungannon by a mere half a second from the Toyota GR Yaris rally2 of Monaghan's Josh Moffett and his Wexford co-driver Andy Hayes.
